Persist -Love Drives Out Hate – Day 13

Today I am continuing to look at how language affects both discourse and action.  The image of the day is one from the Grammy’s ceremony last night. Katy Perry moved beyond “fluff” last night with her “Persist” armband and the backdrop of the Constitution which begins with “We the People.”

katy- perry- grammy's - persistHere we see a strong image of love and inclusion. We also see the use of a word that is positive, “persist,” instead of reactive, “resist”. Resistance is sometimes necessary but persistence is an ongoing, positive action. Just ask Elizabeth Ward, the Queen of Persistence.

Oops – I missed Day 12
